Sree Narayana Mandira Samiti, located at Chembur (W), has been rendering yeomen service in the field of education for more than three decades through its educational institutions. This locality, a central suburb of Mumbai has witnessed a mushrooming growth of schools and colleges in the recent past. Unfortunately, most of these institutions are functioning without qualified and properly trained teachers and there is a visible dearth of professionalism in teaching field. Having this in mind and the dire need of knowledgeable, qualified, trained graduates, the Samiti planned to start their college of education (B. Ed.) in the year 2009 - 2010 with necessary permission and recognition from NCTE and affiliation from the University of Mumbai. The college has successfully completed its fourteen years since inception. This year the college is going for the first cycle of NAAC.

Sree Narayana guru was born in a remote South Indian village Chempazhanti in Kerala. He grew up seeing the pathetic condition of the fellow human being and the inhuman treatment inflicted upon them. His childhood incidents gave an indication that he was gifted with super natural powers. Guru opted to utilize his spirituality and wisdom for the betterment of the society. He propounded the theory of universal brotherhood of mankind, Sanatana - dharma and truth in day-to-day life. He placed dignity and self-respect of mankind at the highest pedestal above all religions. "Whatever be the religion, it is enough, if man becomes virtuous" was his message. Guru revolutionalised the social, religious and philosophical system.
It gives me great pleasure to know that Udaan the college magazine 2021-2023 is ready for publication. True to its name, this magazine arouses flights of imagination into the creativity of our student teachers and faculty members. I applaud the student editorial team for the grit and dedication they have invested in accomplishing this task. Let me also put on record the team spirit displayed by the Council Members and the relentless support extended by every member of the faculty in this journey of accomplishments. Dear Students, though you are a batch that can be labeled as a late arrival, you are a fortunate batch who had varied experiences both academic and administrative. You are a batch that is a part of value-added courses, self Learning courses and Geo – photographs. All this is only because the institution is embarking on its maiden voyage of NAAC process. To our readers I wish to reiterate that we focus on discovering, developing and drawing out the hidden talents and the magic lying dormant in our inhibited adult teacher trainees. From academics to co-curricular activities, perseverance and a never-say-die spirit are entrenched in the heart of every teacher trainee not only making them good learners but empathetic human beings as well. In today’s ever-changing world, a holistic development and grooming is of utmost importance and through our campus we are creating an environment for future leaders, who will possess skills to manage a global classroom with undaunted success. I am positive that in times to come we will continue this journey with elevated enthusiasm and persistently provide a platform of holisitic learning. We are collaborators in learning with our trainees and seek to deepen their knowledge, provide enriching and innovative learning experiences while also gently urging our trainees to come out of their comfort zone to attempt new challenges.
